PRODUCTS DETAILS

IBR Pipe

IBR pipes are high-pressure pipes manufactured in compliance with the Indian Boiler Regulations (IBR), 1950, which govern the design, material, construction, and testing of boilers and related components. These pipes are specifically used in industries where boilers, pressure vessels, and steam pipelines operate under high pressure and temperature conditions.

IBR-certified pipes ensure safety, durability, and resistance to extreme heat and pressure, making them ideal for power plants, thermal industries, chemical processing plants, and refineries. They are typically made from carbon steel, alloy steel, or stainless steel, depending on the specific application.

IBR pipes are essential for industries operating high-pressure boilers and steam pipelines.

Manufacturing Process of IBR Pipes

  1. Material Selection: High-grade raw materials such as carbon steel, alloy steel, or stainless steel are chosen for their strength and thermal resistance.
  2. Pipe Forming: Pipes can be manufactured using either the seamless process (preferred for high-pressure applications) or welding methods like ERW or SAW.
  3. Heat Treatment: Pipes undergo annealing or normalizing processes to improve their mechanical properties.
  4. Testing & Inspection: Pipes are subjected to hydrostatic testing, ultrasonic testing, radiographic examination, and stress analysis to meet IBR standards.
  5. IBR Certification: The pipes must be inspected and approved by IBR authorities before being used in boiler systems.

Properties of IBR Pipes

  1. High Pressure & Temperature Resistance: Designed for extreme industrial conditions.
  2. Excellent Strength & Durability: Withstands stress and thermal expansion in steam and boiler applications.
  3. Corrosion & Oxidation Resistance: Can be coated or made from stainless steel for added protection.
  4. Leak-Proof Construction: Seamless or high-quality welded joints ensure no leakage under pressure.
  5. Regulatory Compliance: Adheres to strict safety standards, reducing operational risks.
